What a gift it was to enjoy Paris with two of my best friends
The Moulin Rouge in all of its seedy glory
So grateful to have spent time in Paris with our lovely Brian (we lost him last year)
Charmed by every sweet
Sold!
An American in Paris (ps that golden gate is the enterance to Abercrombie and Fitch WTF?)
The Eiffel Tower deserves a Toyota jump!
The most insanely beautiful boutique hotel I have ever seen (more about it down below)
I was speechless over this staircase
Every detail (including the carpet) was interesting
Cobble stone roads = seriously car sick Anyone else have this problem?
You know those day dreams you had in class as a kid during a snoozer of a math lesson?? Yeah, I still get those regularly about Paris. The city of lights?? Sure, but why just leave it at lights? That name just doesn’t encompass all it’s glory. How about the city of everything is better here? Or Paris, the city that could EASILY beat up yours?! I mean even the fast food employees wear beautiful scarves and pointed toe oxfords!
I was lucky enough to travel to Paris twice in the last two and a half years. This Fall season has me missing it tremendously. A special gift that I will always treasure was being able to be in the city with one of my best friends who passed away in a motorcycle accident earlier this year. I didn’t realize it at the time, but being there with Brian was so precious and I treasure that experience everyday. He had such a way of making you feel like anything was possible. Combining that ability of his with being in Paris together was magic.
During my last trip to the city, I stayed at the Saint James Hotel. I still can’t get over how visually stunning it was! I sat in the lobby for nearly two hours taking pictures. I couldn’t get enough! If you have no intentions of going to Paris, I still recommend looking at their site just for the photos. The hotel is an old Chateau that former first lady Mrs. Thiers had built in memory of her late husband and former French president Adolphe Thiers. It was used as a hot air ballon launching and landing spot and it played as host to many gifted French students. How perfect is that?! It is located in the 16th district . The most upscale neighborhood in Paris. It was so surreal driving past Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis’ apartment every morning when leaving the hotel. I can easily say that it is the most incredible hotel I have ever visited. I have been able to share the incredible city with friends and family (you know who you are)and that is a major reason why it’s so special to me.
The of the hotel was designed by the incredible Bambi Sloan. You can check out her work on the Saint James Blog HERE
