Day three was really exciting for me as a blogger because It was the first day the shows I was attending were in “the tents.” I have attended fashion week parties or events here or there in the past, but never as an invited blogger and never in the tents! I have to say it felt just like a movies! Forgive me if I sound like a rookie here, but everyone starts somewhere, right? There were furs, chanel and crazy asthetic combos all over the place. I kept texting everyone saying “I wanna bring you next time!” I would bring everyone one of my readers if I could. Some MBFW goers were really cool and interesting, while others were serious as a heart attack and NOT kind. ..lol…I guess that is fair on their part considering they are probably treating everything very professionally. I do have to say I work my a*s off and there is always time to show mutual respect to another human being! Anyway, there was too much to be grateful for to focus on meanies. Check out two incredible show reviews below!
Ps. www.purseblog.com named my quilted Chanel (above) one of the best bags of fashion week. It was so nice to get the kind of love from a blog I really admire.
Son Jung Wang Fall 2014 Collection
My first show of the day was by designer Son Jung Wang and It was nothing less than spectacular! She an extremely talented designer from Seoul Korea that captures the dual nature of women whether they want to dress pretty, sexy, feminine or chic. This collection specifically embodied a wide variety of color and emotion. Inspired by artist Mark Rothko, there was a large spectrum of looks. I absolutely loved the bits of metallic leather used throughout the pieces. Although I don’t do fur (unless vintage handed down by my grandmother) I have no problem recognizing its beauty! I could have stared at her fur pieces all day long. I cannot say enough good things about this collection. It was BEYOND stunning.

Mara Hoffman, the designer known for loud, colorful, resort inspired prints presented us with a collection that was nothing short of exciting and alive. Although she used more black in this collection than she ever has, it was still fresh and very interesting. One of my favorite pieces was a black fringe floor length poncho….so clearly I was good with the amounts of black going on. “You need a black back drop to enjoy the beautiful stars at night” stated Hoffman. She drew her inspiration from northern Africa specifally from camels, Moroccan rugs and bedouin jewelry. Known for her resort pieces, she is mixing it up by designing more everyday pieces with that same eclectic vibe. Really rad stuff! Check out http www.marahoffman.com for her most recent and past collections.
More exciting fashion week updates and new styled looks to come! Have a lovely Holiday.
