Inspired by the October cover of Instyle magazine, I styled my scarf as a sconcho (my made up word for scarf/poncho). As a self proclaimed scarf fanatic, I needed to bump up my scarf techniques and try something new. Luckily, ponchos are really on trend right now. Lately we have seen the Burberry color block check blanket poncho draped over several famous style icons and models (see below) like on the Instyle cover, we are even seeing the Burberry poncho layered with over sized belted scarves. So how do you transform your scarf? The trend is to drape, drape and drape and the more blanket like, the better. Having said that I think it’s important to recognize that too much loose fabric can be a bad thing, which is why I chose a fitted cotton dress for underneath the sconcho (skinny jeans and booties would also be lovely). If you own at least one larger scarf, you can try this trend! In order for it not to drown you, be sure to attach a skinny belt so we know you have a waist line.
It’s such a fun fall look that will leave you longing for a walk through central park with the crisp leaves at your feet and a warm drink ( I say chai) in your hand. xo

I need to play around more with my blanket scarves! There are like a zillion ways to wear them, and this is one of my favourites. Great call pairing it with the neutral dress. Really makes the scarf pop without being at all overwhelming.
I love your made up word Sconcho! It’s the perfect way to describe it! I love scarves too but I have yet to try a sconcho…I think I need to 🙂 You look so gorgeous!
