I loved seeing American Hustle over the holidays, but I was mostly mesmerized by the fabulous costuming done by Michael Williamson. Oh my goodness it was beautiful!! Amy Adams played the role of the slick and sexy Sydney Prosser aka Edith (with an english accent of course) and she looked amazing. I rarely have a “stop and stare” costume experience in a movie, but this one almost gave me the same feeling as when I saw Sharon Stone for the fist time in Casino….that costuming changed my life. I AM NOT KIDDING! I know I sound really dramatic right now.
I can’t think of a more fabulous era than the seventies. All of that glitz and glamour. If I could go back in a time machine for one night, there is a good chance it would be for a night at studio 54 in a fabulous plunging gold metallic Halston gown. I would invite all of you to come with me!!!
I have included some pieces inspired by the movie costuming. A lot of the pieces in the film were authentic vintage pieces from various fashion houses. I included some higher priced and lower priced options. So there is something for everyone. I hope you enjoy this American Hustle style inspired post. XOXO

January 7, 2014 at 12:55 amI have yet to see this movie but I’m loving what I have seen of the costuming. I think Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence look amazing in the stills I have seen and I totally get your fashion crush, especially the Sharon Stone in Casino reference. I loved her hair in that movie. I will gladly accompany you to Studio 54 in the Emilio Pucci gown, however I might need to run a good 70s scam to get it. 😉
